Terms and Conditions
1. By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by The Wind Down Code of Conduct & Event Rules, Safety Program, Adult Waiver and Parental Consent & Indemnity (where applicable), and the Wind Down Survival Guide.
2. Assumption of Risk: You understand that attendance at a multi-day music and arts festival involves inherent risks (crowding, uneven terrain, weather, wildlife, camping hazards, fire, loud music, etc.) and you voluntarily assume these risks and accept full responsibility for your safety and the security of your property.
3. Release of Liability & Waiver: You release and discharge the Organizer and related parties from any and all claims, damages and liability connected with your participation or presence at The Wind Down to the maximum extent permitted by law, including claims based on negligence or breaches of statutory duties. Parents understand they cannot waive a child’s right to sue for negligence, but agree to indemnify the Organizer to the fullest extent permitted by law.
4. Indemnity: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer and related parties from any claims, liabilities or expenses arising from your acts or omissions or those of your dependents.
5. Ticketing & Entry: All attendees, including children, must have a valid, unique ticket purchased in advance. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable without organizer approval. Upon arrival, you must check in with ID and ticket confirmation. Wristbands will be issued and must be worn at all times. Wristbands are required for re-entry; children will receive a special wristband with guardian contact information.
6. Conduct & Respect: You agree to treat all participants, performers and staff with respect. Discrimination, harassment, violence or abuse will not be tolerated. Consent is mandatory in all interactions. The festival is family-friendly; avoid offensive language or inappropriate behaviour near children.
7. Child & Family Safety: Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult; minors aged 12–17 must adhere to the 11 p.m. curfew and are encouraged to return to camp by 10 p.m. Children under 12 must remain in the physical presence of a parent or arranged caregiver as per Alberta law. Parents must not assume another adult will supervise their child without explicit agreement. You must not supervise children while intoxicated. Families must check in at the Peak Harm Reduction Tent to fill out a Family Communication Plan and obtain emergency response wristbands; minors must wear these wristbands at all times.
8. Substance Use: The Wind Down does not serve alcohol. Adults of legal drinking age may bring limited quantities of alcohol for personal use; consumption must be discreet or confined to private campsites. Providing alcohol or drugs to minors is strictly prohibited. Illegal substances and open consumption or sale of alcohol or drugs in shared spaces are prohibited. Visible or audible use of nitrous oxide is forbidden. Smoking tobacco or cannabis is allowed only in designated areas away from children and common spaces. *Absolutely NO smoking of any kind on the dancefloor!
9. Camping, Vehicles & Environmental Stewardship: Select an appropriate camping zone (family, quiet, general) on a first-come basis. Only one vehicle is permitted per campsite unless otherwise stated as vehicles are not allowed in some camping areas; vehicles must be moved to designated parking after unloading. No driving in the campgrounds after the event begins unless directed to do so by security or staff and absolutely NO driving after dark; obey the 10 km/h speed limit and one-way routes. Quiet hours are 3 a.m - 8 a.m., during which no generators, amplified sound or drum circles. Fires must be contained to propane stoves; wood-burning fires are prohibited. Leave no trace: pack out or dispose of waste properly; respect wildlife and water resources. Pets are not permitted except pre-registered service animals. Glass, weapons, fireworks and illegal substances are prohibited.
10. Health & Safety: You certify that you are physically and mentally fit to attend. Stay hydrated, use sun protection and ear protection, bring warm clothing/camping gear, and follow good hygiene practices. Familiarize yourself with the first aid station and the Peak Harm Reduction Tent. In an emergency, follow instructions from festival staff and proceed to designated assembly points. You authorize festival staff to provide or arrange medical treatment if necessary and agree to be responsible for related costs.
11. Prohibited Items: Prohibited items include glass containers, weapons, fireworks, explosives, illegal substances, unapproved generators, drones (unless preapproved), pets, and large or obstructive structures. Do not bring anything restricted by the festival’s rules.
12. Photography & Media: By attending, you consent to being photographed or filmed by official festival photographers. These images may be used for promotional purposes; official photographers will ask permission before photographing minors.
13. Enforcement & Consequences: Violations of these Terms or the Code of Conduct may result in warnings, confiscation of prohibited items, ejection from the festival without refund, and notification of authorities. These Terms & Conditions may be amended; check the festival website and communications for updates.
14. Governing Law: These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta. If any portion is deemed unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
By purchasing a ticket, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions and agree to comply with all festival policies and code of conduct as posted on our website. If you are purchasing tickets for minors, you also agree to execute the Parental Consent & Indemnity Agreement on their behalf. Ensure you sign all waivers sent to you. You will NOT be permitted entry to the event without waivers being signed.
Your tickets are being purchased from The Wind Down (the organizer).
Tickit's services are limited to generating and delivering tickets and forwarding your payment to the organizer. Tickit’s fees for this service are non-refundable.
All communications or disputes regarding ticket order refunds, chargebacks, changes, disruptions and cancellation are between you and the organizer. Tickit will be not be liable or responsible in any way for refunds or chargebacks in connection with the organizer's events.
